HD Supply Manager, IT Release Management in Atlanta, Georgia
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field plus 3 years of work experience in offered or similar position with technical change, release management and software development methodologies.
Stated experience must also include 1 year of experience with projects requiring the integration of cross-functional technology and business solutions.
Manages the documentation, approval, and timing of technical releases into quality assurance and production environments. Determines, implements, and communicates process improvements for technical change and release management processes.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Manages the movement of IT releases through build, test, and production environments. Ensures proper structures are in place for scalability. Interfaces and communicates with test, development, operations, architecture, infrastructure, and project management teams.
Delegates tasks to associates while monitoring and requesting resources to support the completion of release management activities. Monitors activities and provides group and individual performance feedback.
Oversees the cross-functional coordination of release events and develops release strategies across IT departments. Creates and establishes processes in partnership with audit and other technology business controls.
Creates and manages the enterprise-wide release calendar. Provides release risk and mitigation strategies.
Communicates with stakeholder teams to ensure release data and changes are correctly interpreted and documented. Works with team members to ensure documentation meets audit standards.
Provides real-time updates regarding release scheduling conflicts. Updates extended stakeholders on statuses and metrics.
Gathers, maintains, and communicates feedback to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Participates in formal and informal release management training.

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
